Build a New Playground

The Playground Committee is a group of parents working with Principal Schlichter to find a way to provide the children of GMS a playground. The playground was deemed unsafe in the winter (see the Primex report on the school district webpage, www.litchfieldsd.org, for details). The Playground Committee is accepting donations, applying for grants and community sponsorships, and planning activities to raise funds. All donations are tax deductible.

Thank you to the volunteers who in one day installed the entire playground!  They all did an excellent job and their hard work is greatly appreciated.

We would like to thank the numerous businesses that have supported the playground.  Please see the complete list in the Supporters section.

Members: Jeff Coughlin, Kim Coughlin, Martha Dexter, Rebecca Feely, Kathleen Follis, Principal Schlichter, Mike Caprioglio, Derek Barka, Heather Buxton, Betty Vaughn

Please feel free to call Kathleen Hegarty Follis at 423-0343 or khegarty_follis@hotmail.com with any questions regarding the project.

Fundraising Goals

What are the fund-raising goals for the GMS Playground Committee?  Ideally, we’d like to raise the full $45,000 needed to install the large play set outlined in Option 4. Realistically however, we would like to set several goals with the first being a small climbing structure installed by September, secondly a small play set, and finally the full sized play set.

Goal 1: Small climbing structure for Sept 2010: $10,000
Goal 2: Small Play Set: $30,000
Goal 3: Large Play Set: $45,000
